Founded as Danbury Congregational Church in 1937 by members of the Little Baddow Congregational Church, itself founded in 1662

The church architect was Frederic Lawrence, who also designed Immanuel Congregational, Bournemouth,(1929)
Oxted Congregational (1934) and Ewell Congregational (1935)
